Have you Ever Been to Balzac?
OK, bear with me people. While I know the name Balzac is one that makes us all giggle just a little, it’s actually a pretty cool place to visit. It’s a quaint little town, just west of Airdrie and minutes from North West Calgary. It used to be quite rural, and at one point it was home to a Canadian Pacific Railway Station. But that was back in 1910, and a lot has changed since then. If you have some time, it’s worth taking a drive out to Balzac as it’s just far enough outside the city limits to let you feel the richness of the prairies that we all know and love.
While many people end up in Balzac after shopping at Cross Iron Mills, there is another fantastic gem located in this area – Hudson Horsemanship. It’s a cute spot offering Western recreational riding lessons for beginner and intermediate riders, starting from age 6.
What they offer
Riders over the age of 6 who choose to ride at Hudson Horsemanship can choose from a range of Private or Semi Private lessons. Prices start at $185 monthly and they offer a range of packages. Definitely worth checking out!
You can also sign up for a cowgirl or cowboy experience or take your little one for a Pony Birthday Party. How amazing! We all know that horse riding is special and that there is a connection between horse and human that is really special, but Hudson Horsemanship is taking things to a new level.
